Alecya:

1. I like your warmth and your affectionate nature.
2. I can’t think of a specific song, but it would have to be something by Nina Simone.
3. I agree with the picnic in SF…or hanging out in the Haight with you.
4. Magic! Raising power! This isn’t something that we’ve shared, but I sense that you would understand.
5. I don’t have a clear memory, but I do remember you referring to us all as “loves” once. I thought it was very sweet.
6. I’m terrible with quotes! I’ll come up with something later, I hope.
7. So when are you coming to visit me?

As for your question to me…I guess I don’t think of myself as terribly gentle – you should hear the way I curse at drivers on the road. I think that I have been terribly lucky in my life, in terms of never having been traumatized or abused. I wouldn’t say I’ve been sheltered because I think I’ve seen a lot of pain in others in my life. But I guess that I believe, to a large extent, that if you treat others with compassion (and yourself) that this will somehow make the world a better place for everyone. I would argue that I have some completely selfish moments, as well, and I can be a harsh critic, but it is mostly directed inward.

Thanks alecya! I loved your responses. Here's my reply:

1. You're genuine and honest.
2. I hear Ani's name and instantly think of you, so anything by her.
3. I'd love to take photos with you, and share our vision of how we see things. We could look at the same thing and see something completely different. How cool would that be?
4. The inside was covered in stickers because at the last moment I spilled some glue and I wanted to cover it up. *G*
5. When you decided to participate in NaNoWriMo and did such a great job of it.
6. "Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself." ~Harvey Fierstein
7. If you could do anything, what would you do?

And yes, I more or less live in the middle of nowhere. I'm in the NW corner of CT., cow country. Think Norman Rockwell's settings, and you'd be right. He lived and painted about 40 minutes from my home. But I can always hop a train into NYC when I need a dose of city. :0)
